:: Too close for comfort? ::
Time with old acquaintances and gfs had always been something I'd look forward to.
Exchanging stories of mundane career life, the male species and of course, shopping- Im brought back to my own private world (no boys allowed), enjoying the personal space Ive been granted.
So today, the initial plan was to enjoy Starbucks coffee with a fav. friend.
Knowing me, we decided to make a last minute change - headed to town instead.
Didnt help that it was nearing Christmas and most shops were having their end of season/yr sale, we were so tempted and spoilt with too many choices that in the end we decided not to buy anything at all.
Ok, that always happen to me.
It has been confirmed.
I hate crowds.
The kiasu aunties made shopping unbearable.
The long queues killed my appetite to try on pretty clothes.
The only scene I enjoyed was looking at men with bored expressions waiting for their gfs to finish shopping. The body language clearly state 'I cant wait to be out of here'.
The smarter ones will wait outside the shop.
The even smarter ones will do their own shopping.
The erm, not so smart ones, will wait loyally in front of the fitting room and yes, be the fashion critic for their loved ones.
I am that mean, I know.
Someday I will be shot for being so outright and frank.
I knew my fav. friend as someone who is independent and confident.
Being in a relationship just recently, she came to a sudden realization that shes losing her independence slowly and now worried that it could cost her the freedom to be the person that she wants to be.
I guess its true.
Even the most independent girl cant deny the presence of a special someone.
As the attachment deepens and the bond strengthens, the independent girl realizes shes no longer alone and complacency took over - creating the usual fights along the lines of 'we've been taking each other for granted'.
So how does one appear not needy or clingy even as she yearns just a little bit of attention?
For afterall, independence and confidence are major turn-ons for men.
