:: alive and kicking ::

The past few days, I've been preoccupied with work.
The folks were off for a short trip to Indonesia.
Me and Bro had to take turns doing household chores. (Thank goodness, Bro is so much more domesticated than me)
I did my share of cooking. Cetz. Mum left me with a few recipes to choose from with a very important advice at the end of it. 'Mir, tutup api!'
Yes, she fears her careless daughter will set the house of fire.
Like Moly specifically put it today after I can't recall where I placed my worksheets, 'Deyni blur tau.' Haha. Ko pon dah kenal aku. :p

D and I had to judge a poetry recital competition organized by our juniors.
Very much aware that our Malay had not been as 'proper' as it used to. :p
The juniors were superb. So many potential and hidden talent.
And five years ago, we were as young as them. Kwakwa.

The student interaction with the Japanese students was pretty interesting.
The four of us were not informed that we will be sitting in a forum-like manner.
Receiving questions like.. 'What is your impression of Japan.' 'What type of teacher you want to be?' and something relating to our cultural practices.
The NIE video was then featured. I saw the man. Part-time unpaid actor. Lol.

It's a good thing we are both busy at the same time.
The man is preparing for the upcoming international conference.
I have to oversee preparations for the upcoming book launch. Its a tedious work, tending admin matters especially if the guest of honor is a minister. Every minute has to be recorded.
Learning to write press releases, speeches for the 'boss', minutes-taking. The team has been great. Offering help and guidance that I so needed.

And every time I see Jannah online, its always work discussion.
At the moment, we really lack energy to even spare time for lunch. (Ok, making an effort tomorrow)
Bedtime is usually super early; we were even shocked.
Once upon a time, our batteries can last till wee hours in the morning.
Now, the batteries need constant charging.

Mary, I need to reschedule the photo-taking sessions. :(
Next week is good.
Anggunz aka makcik pregnant. Stay fat. Haha. Ko turun bukit panjang la. Kita lepak pat Starbucks.
I owe alot of people Starbucks session. Plus Janna.

Dad came back with candid pictures from Surabaya.
One thing he and the man have in common: taking candids.

Preparing a wedding. Dad told me the event is 24-hr. The living conditions were bad.
But dad say everyone seem happy, celebrating the joyous occasion.

This is my favourite picture.
U know what I like about this. -
The sincerity of the smiles. Just the love of life.
Under such a poor state of living.

And I figured, no matter how hard I work.
The enjoyment can never produce such a smile.
I don't know. Maybe because we are in a rat race and they aren't?

But I am thankful. For everything.
