:: Shadows ::
I knew losing my Compaq Presario to a lucky stranger was a sign something bad will happen.
It took a while to register the blessings behind the loss.
Pictorial remains of the past removed.
No physical reminders of happy moments captured.
Conversations with friends got me thinking.
Is it necessary to stash all evidence that had you n him/her smiling and laughing once upon a time?
And if by chance, you stumble upon a folder of your present partner n d case of the ex.. will you then be able to handle it?
Digging your partner's past equates to digging your own misery.
Girls especially will come up with taunting qns..
'Is she prettier than me? Is she taller than me? Is she thinner than me? Is she nicer than me?'
The comparison then began, followed by frivolous arguments.
The shadow slowly creeps into the relationship, a gnawing sense of inadequacy grew into a bigger issue of self-doubt.
Though at times, knowing the past could keep in you check.
The better it is if you 'won' the unspoken battle with his/her past.
An ego boost, oh well.. a confidence injection is definitely necessary.
The truth is, even if im a believer of stashing away evidences, we have to be thankful for the past.
A man's loss is another man's gain.
A woman's loss is another woman's gain.
So if her/his pictures are still residing in one of his/her secret folders (and he/she isnt aware that you knew of its existence), take a deep breath and relax.
For all you knew, it might not mean anything.
Just say, its memories.
It had been part of him. Look at it this way.
He/She is the past, You are now the present and future.
Insecurity is a turn-off.
Trust me.
