My wise old man has broaden his choice of topics for discussion during our dadndaughter bonding session.
Ok, I wont call it a discussion. Its more of Pak M testing his daughter's problem/puzzle solving skills which she apparently lacks.
Pak M had never provided answers even as the stubborn-headed daughter tried to search for hidden clues to the meaning behind his words.
21 years, and she's still trying.

So he was putting his message across on the need to be financially independent.
She couldnt agree less that happiness has been materialized : love no longer conquers all.
Love will not pay your bills, your house&car loans, your insurances, your holidays, your wedding and the list goes on.
Love has to include being practical and rationale.

Goldigger she's not, just someone who believed in stability.
Granted, whats given to you can be taken back any time - one should keep on striving to work hard for a comfortable life.
Wealth never equates to happiness.
Its a matter of providing a good life for your loved ones.
In Pak M's words, 'If I leave this Earth for good, then Im happy to know my family is taken care of.'

The value of dollars -- is it costing our way of life?
