instead of the normal 3 days, the 'pasar malam' at my area will be on for two weeks!!!
two weeks, mind you.
n i'm getting hooked to d ramly burger.
superb mix of sauces.. i loike.
my attention was however directed to the 'mats' tending the stall.
its quite impressive that these mats are doing something useful.
who knows if they worked hard enough, they might end up being entrepenuers.
its easy to look at these kids and labelled them 'kids with no future.'
with their weird sense of dressing; might i add most of them totally 'misuse' roxy and quicksilver brands.
with their language.
with their ya-yaness..
[descriptions of mats solely based on experience living with one!!!]
but often we misjudged them.
some of them really have talents.
singing, dancing and watever else.
but the education system dont provide such opportunities for that kinda learning.
do they?
hmmph.
i remembered hating Maths and Science subjects.
totally bad at numbers and remembering formulas.
lady luck was on my side.
for i was given an opportunity to further my studies in my favourite subject area.
Malay.
passion in the subject brings a new light in my learning journey.
and im happy!
see, I noe how many mats and minahs and ah lians and ah bengs
might hate subjects like maths and science.
or the very 'teruk' one may even hate studying.
so speaking from a teacher-to-be perspective. [must be joking]
teachers are responsible for creating a fun learning environment.
if teachers had gone an extra mile to actually find out what their pupils are interested in
and relate it with topics in the textbook.
we might have more successful mats and minahs and ah lians and ah bengs.
who said maths is not interesting?
Mat bought a quicksilver shirt for 35 dolars. Minah bought a roxy t-shirt for 29.90. How much change will they received if they pay the cashier 85 dolars?
we malays keep saying our young generation are drifted.
as what had been portrayed through the series of 'hanyut' on Suria.
d same problem had been there for like forever.
sometimes people learnt best through bad experiences.
street-smart or academically smart? you decide.
